Bridge: Calling Trumps is a literary exploration of Dr Gustav de Muelenaere’s life, personality, relationship with his wife, and well-thought-through series of strategic decisions with profession partners as the founder of Meulmed Hospital. For Gustav, nothing is accidental, and everything serves a purpose. The game of bridge – his favourite hobby – is an apt metaphor for the book because it is clinical, strategic, serious, and requires a hint of whimsy.
